The Piscine
It’s time to take a deep dive into coding! For four weeks, you’ll be challenging yourself and work closely with peers to unlock your learning potential. Our Selection Piscine is designed to be an immersive experience where you can allow yourself to make mistakes, fail and learn from them!

Piscine means ‘swimming pool’ in French, and honestly? That’s exactly what it feels like – a plunge into the deep end of coding.
In this video, our students share their firsthand experiences of the Selection Piscine at Codam, a challenging 4-week coding course which is the gateway to becoming a Codam student. Discover why determination and collaboration matter more than prior programming knowledge and learn about the value of the Codam community.

What can you expect during the Piscine?
What makes the Piscine unique is that you don’t need any prior coding experience. Everyone can start from zero. What really matters is your willingness to learn and help others.
Learn by doing
You’ll dive into Piscine assignments structured in modules. Instead of passively watching lectures and tutorials, you’ll actively solve coding problems, developing solutions and testing your newly gained knowledge.
Peer evaluations
Every assignment will be evaluated by your peers and our system. Peer evaluations allow you to discover different programming techniques and solutions. Everyone benefits from these evaluations—they’re often the most transformative learning moments of the Piscine.
Group work
During weekends, you will collaborate on group projects called “rushes”. These sessions are evaluated by our staff or advanced students, providing critical feedback that offers deep insights into your coding approach and techniques.
Exams
Ready to put your skills to the test? Every week, you’ll tackle an exam – solving puzzles against the clock. It’s just you and your computer, showing what you’ve learned. You’ll surprise yourself by cracking problems that seemed impossible just a week ago. Watch yourself level up and discover what you’re truly capable of!
Fun & friendships
The Piscine is more than a learning experience – it’s where lifelong friendships begin! While you code together, you’ll build real connections with your fellow students. Starting as strangers, you’ll quickly learn to support each other, share knowledge, and have each other’s backs when challenges arise.
